Rishav’s first sale to NFT Arts reflected a more serious direction for The Satoshi Collection in May 2021. A change from memes to serious works in just six months. This was the firs piece our Super Curator acquired. A soldier lost in art, a comment on ‘screentime’ or a dystopian vision of the future, we love Kumar’s remixed outlook of the world.
Careful, He’s a Hero (2020)
Mickey Mouse features prominently in a number of crypto artworks. He’s a blockbuster and ripe for ridicule. Beeple regularly uses him in this way. However the title of this piece suggests to hold Disney works with higher esteem in the NFT space. The artists explains “Be careful when you look at this artwork. He’s a hero.”
Extinction (2021)
The artist explains: “the real question is how we got here and where will we end up? Are we already extinct or are we going extinct? This artwork is a transition on life.”
Discovery (2021)
Going from Extinction, Discovery gives humanity hope. Will we discover new planets, a new hope? Kumar explains: “the discovery of a new species or an old one, this artwork takes inspiration from the giants and gods on another planet, in pursuit of life by human beings.”
Digital Renaissance (2021)
Digital Renaissance is another key piece in Kumar’s ‘thou shall art’ collection. It implies that a renaissance is due in the art world before we finally reach eternal peace. Kumar’s work has strong religious overtones, but can be equally seen as a message about NFTs as part of the future of digital art.
Eternal Peace (2021)
Finally, Kumar suggests we can reach a point of humanity having Eternal Peace. This collection in 5 parts tells that story. Going from humanity almost dying out to a new hope and, eventually, peace. Kumars mood switches from sheer despair to a resplendent desire for happiness.
